If I had to guess, i would guess that your Purple Tang owns the tank at the moment. This means that any fish you add after him is going to get hazed. The severity of the hazing will depend on your Purple Tang's temperment (how mean he is) and how threatened he feels. For example, if you put in a tang of a similar shape to him then he will probably feel VERY VERY threatened and will want to KILL the new addition. Luckily the Achilles Tang doesn't look anything like a Purple Tang so in theory your Purple Tang should feel slightly less threatened. However, your Purple Tang will probably still want to assert his dominance on the Achilles. It's hard to know for sure how long this will last. Could be just a few hours. Could be a few days maybe. There are things you can do to help though. What works for me with most of my more aggressive fish is the mirror trick. I tape an Ikea mirror to the side of my tank and leave it there for a few days. All my fish go crazy over their reflections and generally leave new additions alone. Also, introduce the new fish at night while the other fish are sleeping or groggy.
