![]() Did anyone think this D120 is not bright enough? I run both channels at 100% and still my 4 x 39watt T5 is brighter. My tank is 3ft x 2ft x 2ft tall. I run 1 D120 about 8 inches above the water. The light doesn't penetrate deep enough. Does anyone in lower mainland have any of this I can take a look or compare? Maybe mine is defective

![]() One d120 won't cover 3x2x2 which may be the reason why its not as bright. That being said I have the same dimension tank and is plenty bright with my it2060. I'm in surrey if you want to compare.

Anyone else find them not so bright? I'm looking at my T5s and starting to get hesitant to switch. Everything says "go for it" but my T5s are wonderful. Just tired of bulbs. Having a high quality fixture and then replacing it is a tad scary. Lol.

I would not. I would probably moan and complain, read three words and swear once or twice. But since you made it this far, please rate my builds. ![]() |

My tank is also 2 feet deep (but only 20 inches wide). I bleached corals sitting on the sand with the unit set to 60 percent. My light sits only 2-3 inches from the surface but it is also going through a glass top. I am currently running at 40 percent ( I actually have the IT2040 but it's the same lights) |

![]() I should add that the light doesn't appear as bright to my eyes as my old 250MH set up but the reaction of my corals is telling me the usable light they are getting is more than the MH.

![]() Its true that many people indicate that the overall light with LED's doesn't appear as bright but the corals tell us that they are getting a lot more from a lot less with the LED's. I have a DIY fixture over my main display and at 40% during peak times I'm bleaching a lot of my stuff. I don't have my frag tank up yet but the IT2040 I have has the LEDS more tightly packed than my DIY fixture so I imagine I'll be having the same struggle with it being too much unless I cut it back at first.

![]() Ok I borrowed a par reader from a friend. Comparing between T5 and LED. At full blast on both channels, 24" tall tank straight down, 1/4 down from surface where the first coral - 305, on sand 105. My 16" tall breeder with 4 x 39 watt T5 - first coral on top - 176, sand 98. And to my astonishment, my 40 gal breeder tank looks much brighter than my 3 ft x 2ft x 2ft tall tank under this LED. Looks like through naked eye this LED put out more intensity than i can see.

![]() I have 3 units over my tank, all running at about 50% and I have to watch where corals goes because I can bleach them way to easily. I lost a few frags when I first started with these lights because of that.
