I think ultreef had a large piece and a frag a while back not sure if it sold. iOS your tank not a bit young for sps?

Though he would reap the rewards of a mature tank it's not that he can't house sps. Color and growth may be off and take time to come back. I just set up a new tank last Thursday and put all my acros in I lost color on 2 pieces but have good polyp extension and nothing has rtn'd on me.

I agree but would prefer if possible to have a bit more stable tank before adding sps.

I should add that rock was cycled and all 50g water came from mature tank.

I agree. Age isn't everything, stability is. Typically stability comes with age but, then again, I've seen a lot of tanks that that are old but are as stable as the stock market. I have a 14G biocube (with LEDs) that has zero filtration other than water changes and it is growing SPS as fast (if not faster) than my 2 year old 50G SPS tank and with better colours to boot. Oh, and that little tank is less than 4 months old!

My tank is young( just cycled about 3-4weeks) but I have about 4 sps and they are growing and colouring up wonderfully. Even while being in a soft n lps dominate tank
