Brad, so should my pump be able to put out more gph than my overflow or should it be the other way around?
Lostmind, in regards to the sea swirl no I do not have one yet. The oceansmotions product seems kinda confusing (I think I might be a little slow ) what kind of pump do you run for it, was it hard to plumb, does the 4 versions have 4 outlets or are two of the tubes inputs and two outputs, that cylinder in the middle (motor) just controls which output is flowing right, and the big question... how much in the end was it?
Sorry for all the questions but I will most likely have more.
Thanx in advance
Trevor

You can always turn down a pump with a $7 valve, so don't make your choice based on overflow capacity.

So a 1600gph overflow will be fine for the 1198gph mak4 or should I get a smaller overflow?

If your pumps puts out more gph than your overflow, then you'll have water on the floor. I agree with Brad, 1600gph overflow and 1200gph pump is a perfect match.
