Default any suggestions on my nano setup?

Due to having no money (stupid university) I am going to be taking down my 50gal tank and seting up a nano. The dimensions are going to be 18x18x18 (25gal). For lighting I will be using a combo of 24 inch vho and no bulbs to give me about 8+wpg. Seeing as how the tank is only 18" front to back, I was going to get a fuge built into the back (6x18x18, about 8gal) which will be lit by the lights on the tank. I will dose kalk for top off. I plan on having 4 holes drilled in the back (2 on each side) hooked up to a sqwd for some random water motion, I plan on using a 500gph pump so I can have up to 20x turnover if I want. I figure this will give me a good setup for softies, my rose, and some low level sps... Any suggestions before I finalize things?

thanks.

A 500gph pump is too much y dont u get 2 250's or 200 so if ya do need that extra current you have it but it wont be too much to blow your fish away.

Why is it too much?

I just don't want to be underpowered, and I have heard of people running 20+gph on their sps tanks.

My 40g frag tank has 4 maxijet 1200's in it plus another mj 1200 feeding the tank as well as an aquaclear.

So I'm at about 30 to 35 time turnover per hour. It's still not that much flow. Enough to keep the Detrius off the bare bottom.
None of my coral frags get blasted.

You have all the equipment for your current tank, correct?

well, I need $$ to fill it up with stuff but the other reason why I wanted to downgrade, was because right now the tank sits in the basement where we rarely go, and it is much to big to put anywhere upstairs, plus there is much more water volume to spill all over the place if (knock on wood) it ever cracks. So if I want one upstairs it has to be smaller, quieter (so say the roomies) plus I will get much more enjoyment out of it.

Come to think of it, I won't save much money in equipment at all, as I will be keeping most of it for when I get a bigger tank. So if i move it upstairs I will get much more enjoyment out it, which is what this is all about, right ?

Just as a matter of interest, I have two 301 powerheads a 174 gph each and a Fluval 204 on my 24"X18"X18" tank(33 gal.). It contains mainly zoanthids along with some Digitata, and a bit of Hydnophora. The circulation is sufficient.
