![]() After mutliple repairs ( many myself and some by microsoft) and 4 xbox's I have gone through..
There is no repair .. At this stage in the game your can pick up one brand new that is no longer suceptable to the original RROD issues .. grab one of the 129 dollar specials you see at future shop .. Then enjoy your somewhat quiter xbox .

![]() Are you sure there's no repairs? It was repaired before and I got another 4 years out of it.
I don't really want to buy a new one for a few reasons. 1) cost to fix as advertised on some ads on kijiji is $40. I had this fixed in Toronto for about $60 4 years ago. No issues. Brand new unit is $199.99 2) video gaming consoles have historically followed a 5-6 year product life cycle before the next platform is released and the old one discontinued. I think 360 is in its 7th year. Good thoughts and suggestions. I'm just looking to squeeze another 6 to 12 months out of it... I would think the next generation will come out this Christmas or the next. Release Histories November 17, 2006 (PlayStation 3) October 26, 2000 (PlayStation 2) September 9, 1995 (PlayStation) November 16, 2005 (Xbox 360) November 15, 2001 (Xbox) November 19, 2006 (Wii) November 18, 2001 (GameCube) September 29, 1996 (Nintendo 64) Last edited by Reef_Geek; 02-13-2013 at 02:50 PM. |

![]() I would aggree the next gen will be released likely within a year .
I am also very surprised you got 4 years out of a repair . I mean this RROD issue was insane . Both of my repaired xbox 360's from microsoft lasted just under a year. The one i attempted to repair myself ( modified cooling . backing motherboard in oven ) lasted the same . If it was me and money was tight .. take that 50 your would spend on a repair ..sell a couple of your old games add another 30 bucks to it and buy a used one . I just sold a complete ELITE for 70 in town here . Ive seen the 4gb models on sale for 149 recently .
