You nevrr outgrow it. I am 45 and planning out the system for the car i bought. As i tell the wife, there could be worse things to have as a mid life crisis.

My hobies hmm.

Guess automotive would be my biggist, mostly repair, modification and sound.
I own a harley (enough said anout that hobby)
Next would be metal work and wood working, home reno/repairs, and a lirtle bit of everything else.
Getting the shop done so i can set up a paint booth and teach myself to paint auto/motorcycle parts.
Play hockey, coach hockey, and watch hockey.

And probably my biggest onsession, spending money on hobbys.

funny thing is that I'm getting really.tired of driving a vehicle that gets 18mpg highway, so for my next vehicle I'm looking at a prius compact. My biggest dilemma is how I'm going to fit my image dynamics idmax12 in the spare tire well and whether or not the cars electrical system can handle the amps :P

look into the power draw with he heater fan on full, the lights on high beam ect... but stereo off. then figure out the power requirement of your stereo and see if you can upgrade the alternator if you have to. you going to run new wires for the amps so realy you just have to worry about pulling your batteries down.

I have a bit more room as I bought a fusion (42-47mpg) I am looking at using one of the sides of the trunk (behind the wheel well) and making a custom fiberglass box there (spare tire will stay in the car as I might need that). I am trying to maintain as much as my trunk as I can. got to have some place for the hockey gear.

motorcycles, casino, massage, aquarium, r/c cars, boats and planes, home theater, and audiophile 2 channel stereo , and my latest one which is taking up too much of my time is collecting records again.
Just purchased over 600 albums in the last 2 weeks. Some new, but mostly used. Cleaning and sorting them takes a lot of work. Even with the new record cleaning machine I had to buy for $700, still requires about 10 mins per record.
Thats why I just listed my reef tank for sale.

Unfortunately the proud charging system is very different from conventional vehicles. The hybrid charging system charges the drive battery and also has a 100 amp 12v charging system for the rest of the vehicle. It might be a good thing if it can handle 100 amps continuous but imnot sure about that.

I built my box behind a wheel well in the cargo area of my blazer and its not too bad for taking up space. Definitely making a fiberglass one next time tho.

If your talking mpg like that then my blazer would get 20% more than I stated. Its been something that has driven me effing crazy with the auto industry in Canada. A few years ago some overpaid marketing person figured out if they use a Canadian gallon (4.54l) instead of a us gallon (3.78l) then all vehicles get a 20% fuel economy boost with nothing else different. That's why 5 years ago or so all vehicles started getting "better" fuel economy. Its so close to false advertising it isn't even funny. No one even uses a Canadian gallon for ANYTHING.

No thats what i am actualy getting driving to work and back, that why i bought this it was costing me about 700 bucks a month in diesel.
Ya if it is 100 am continuis then you should be fine. New cars are generaly quieter and the new digital amps are much more efficient.
Does anyone know if they make a spell check plugin for the board for android. Whats worse is my keyboad hides some of the box so i cant see 1/2 of what i am typing lol

I've owned a TDI Volkswagen for a couple years, I get a hand calculated 65 mpg CDN and I have over 300,000km and I've had to grease my windshield wiper linkage and re crimp the wiring for my trunk lights. I couldn't be happier... the new passet's look very nice way bigger than a prius, better hwy mpg's, and best of all your not driving a Prius!
