How are you able to achieve such low nutrient levels using standard tap water Raied? Chaeto helps but it doesn't wipe nutrient from your tank.

I wouldn't say its low nutrient system but it remains under 5ppm. My whole system is somehow very well balanced; problem arises when I try to disturb something like sandbed and I get nitrate spike.

I should say I am really lucky with the tap water. I never had any algae outbreak using tap water (other than diatom) or any problem with it. Even dKh remains 9 to 10.

looking good man! By the way, one of the tanks of the month last year used tap water for a long time. Looked great as evidenced by his TOTM acclaim :-) He did eventually switch to using RO/DI but I'm not sure why as his tank did fine with tap water.

Thanks Kien

Atleast I know I won't be going to RO/DI as long as I am in Calgary or something makes me do it.

Like always, don't try to repair something if its not broken :P
