If you can bend it I don't think it's sps.
My guess is a leather

+1. I think it is a finger leather. You can just slice it in the tank no problem and use an elastic band to attach it to a rock if you want to frag it. Run some carbon after you do it if you want to be on the safe side but you will be fine without it.

OK Finger leather sounds more like it cause I've never had luck with SPS in m y tank. This one came with the tank 3 years ago. Was 1/4 the size then LOL

The problem with cutting leathers is the toxins they release in the water.

I wouldn't do it without running carbon in a reactor first.
