![]() I have one half of the existing union joint, the part that the top half screws on to, and there's no groove for an o-ring. I've heard the o-ring can be in the top piece that has the screw on piece. That's what local retailers told me anyways.

My Cepex true-union ball valves have the oring on the no-nut side, but my Cepex unions have it on the nut side |

![]() I have unions that are from different makers with the o ring on opposite sides. The only way it could be print less would be similar to a gic or rail union which in that case uses compression to seal.
