Not exactly I actually had the Radions for sale and had a buyer for them last week, I had a conference in Ottawa so he was going to pick them up this week. Then I learn last night Ecotech has dropped the MSRP on the radions, the price for new was less than I was hoping to get for them. I'm not prepared to take a $800 loss in a year so I am really forced to keep them (not all that bad I still love them) so now the Vega's are for sale and I have a order in for a couple more radions.

On the side note, the money you spend on 1 radion you can almost get 2 vegas, not saying it's better but just stating a fact.
I will try to get a par meter and do that although the par meter and leds don't seem to jive the readings are a little miss leading.

As for a side by side comparison now that I have the controller (which is ok at best) the vega's are very close in brightness using my eye meter. I find the Radions have less of the disco ball effect but only noticeable if you are looking for it. I have seen a great deal of growth in all my corals under both lights and with the right amount of tweaking the corals and fish pop under both lights. I think at this point both of these lights are very comparable, and both ways of setting them up leave a lot to be desired.

the radions are a superior fixture to the sol or vega. the sol will have a higher par directly under the fixture but the radion will have a higher par over a larger area and a more complete spectrum. Great build and nice comparison.

Beside my lighting dilemma I finally got my Profilux dosing pump hooked up and running. Thing are growing like crazy now. My alkalinity was quite low causing the calcium levels to be high so after a week of dosing only 10ml a day of alk they are getting close to balanced. The corals have taken off, I have never had such good growth. In keeping with my initial idea of a self contained unit I had my friend Chris (lapdog2020) to build me a new top off/dosing chamber tank.....

He did a great job again!
