Exclamation GHL Mitras LED Up Close and Personal

I have just received back from Dallas our Demo unit, this is the 3rd one ever built

Lots of people have wanted to see uderside shots, so here you go.

Highest quality ballast as you would expect!

The units are all FCC compliant as they should be due to being wireless.

As you can see from the photo the Mitras uses Special coated high-performance LED-reflectors with a reflection factor of 99 %, which means no useless divergence losses of the light to the sides or spotting. Additionally the light is reflected slighty diffused which produces an homogenous and natural light impression, this is very important when several LED colors are mixed.

The protection glass is made of extremely transparent plastics which is also used for solariums. The transparency is above 92% over the entire visible color spectrum.

Here are some Macna shots. We had 3 units on the frag tank only to show the 3 colours of frames available. It was very clear that 1 unit was easily covering in excess of 30"

Size comparison

I can attest that these units were very very nice and had good spread and coverage versus a lot of the lights at MACNA.
A very high end light, most likely with the pricing to match.

Pricing is $1,199 which is not bad considering the amount of LED's you get (over 70) which accounts for large light spread and of course the functionality.

They look good as expected. Any news on when pre-orders will be filled?

In regards to spread, have a look at this photo specifically Randys Calves! Look how far away he is from the light and how bright the carpet around him is being illuminated!

The lamp is a mere 12" off the water surface.

The overspill is due to the tank only being 48" and the end unit right on the edge of the tank

There was a 3 week delay from GHL, the last we heard was that the shipment will leave Germany by air freight to us on the 8th October. GHL put an apology post on their website.

Is there word on what the par ratings for these will be?

I'm still looking for a lighting option for my new 30" deep 6' tank. Ideally I want something that gives me at least 200 on the sand bed. Considering these don't have optics i'm assuming they may not have the punch i'm looking for but I could be wrong.

If you want silver we maybe able to swing you 6 still on the 15% off discount, as we have 8 silver units left from the pre order due to a USA dealer going out of business.

The specs are here. 30" should be no issue.

If you still feel is not enough then you can special order narrow beam reflectors. But I question what bleaching you will do to anything further up. These are hugely powerful.
