The prescription pot did absolutely nothing for him so he had to source it elsewhere.

Pot would provide a good source of income. One issue that would be affected though is that kids would be more exposed to it. Even more so than they are now. Also, driving well being high puts you at a greater risk of getting in an accident. It is a tough call. There are pros and cons to both sides.
Very sorry for your loss! I know that finding something that relieves pain is a godsend and I'm happy to know that he found some relief with the use of pot. Chronic pain is horrible, there is definitely a place for pot use and a good reason to legalize. (I am not being hypocritical as I do see both sides)

Police do have road side test got thc. They do mouth swap witch I believe I'd accurate within 20 min

I do not agree though with the gateway drug theory. I believe it's more on who you are and who you associate with. I'm a pot smoker and have never tried or had any want to do another narcotic.
I have had friend who got into serious narcotics and I can tell you they were off my friend list instantly.

Personally I do not use any drug for recreational purposes; however I agree that legalizing pot and taxing it would have far better reaching benefits than leaving all of the profit in the hands of drug dealers/growers; and a big bill left on society while trying to control something though our courts and law enforcement that clearly will not be controlled.
