Yep some emerald crabs and some turbos will take care of that algea. You may leach nutrients from the rock too. So like Denny asked. I suggest some gfo.
Have you tested for po4

This tank is going to look awesome! I know the algae is bad, but the color gives you an idea of how your corals will look!

Try cutting your lights back, get a cuc going!

I bought my first corals today! Its exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!

My peppermint shrimp have Molted, the hermits are Molting. all the Green Hair algea was gone within the week of getting my CUC. I have some green algea on the rocks now but that is my fault. I throw in a few Seaweed Extreme pellets every few days to be sure eveyone is getting enough. Ill be cutting back on that.

for a clean up crew I have hermits, 2 emerald crabs, a strawberry conch, 2 Zebra Hermits and Trochus snails. 2 peppermint shrimp.

I got my Radion hung up and I think finally set properly. I picked up some Purigen and chemi-pure Elite.

Skimmer is finallly working properly and quiet. I should have the ATO set up this weekend. I am having a lot of water evap! not sure the 2.5 gal resevoir will be enough.

Next week I will be ordering the new refugium.

Corals I got today are already open and seem happy, I don't think they are in their final place yet, I have to pick up some putty or glue so I can place them on my rocks rather than the peices they are on. (we will see)

now..Pics!

Yellow tip Torch

he said it was a christmas favia I believe but The light purple in it has me thinking it is not.
I can't quite get an accurate pic of the color. there is still a little too much purple in this one.

orange Riccordia (there are 2 on this rock)

Branching Hammer.

Encrusting Monti. The polyps are blue and Orange.

Strawberry Conch

It still looks empty

Thanks Titus.

I am happy to read This thread is helping someone else! Thanks.
I Love this tank. I think what has helped ommensley is I am not in a hurry. I don't even have a fish in quarantine yet. and I only bought what I liked for corals not because they were rare morphs.

The rockwork took me days! lol I like it but would have liked more sandbed exposed for corals.
