Default Reef crystals with sps

Didn't want to hi jack another members post, reef crystals, how many people use it with sps?

Does it seem different or make a difference to sps over the regular IO?

I am curious to see if the extra $$ is worth the change, thanks in advance for anyone who answers....

I use it, and my sps seem happy.

Are you just using IO salt? I think reef crystals are totally worth it, there are so many more essential elements in it then just the salinity salt. IMO I'd make the switch to reef crystals. Mind you I never used just the salt before.... ..... .... ....... .. .. .. . . . .

The advantage is probably just the elevated levels for Ca/Alk/Mg...maybe some other stuff. It reduces or eliminates the extra dosing required, especially with new make up water. If you dose the tank to Ca of 440, you don't want to do a large water change with IO at 380ppm, so lots of people dose the new water first. RC means you may not have to do that.
If you dose though, or have a good Ca or kalk reactor, there may not be any advantage. But what's the price difference over a year? You might recover that cost from the 4 extra frags you grew....

My tank uses 1dkh and 25ppm cal per day,, Due to work, i can only do wc every 2 weeks. doesnt matter what salt i use, i'd have to dose. however there is something in rc that my rbtas and sps love, they swell up and hve great polyp extension after wc. i ty to keep at 425 ca and 9dkh.
