Ya, I tore the tank down I was so ****ed off! Could have avoided it with a real refractometer

my frag tank took a face plant this month due to a huge salinity increase caused by a hydrometer , bought a refractometer and figured out sg was .31 when hydrometer said .24 real pain to bring it back down .

Looks like hydrometer is more notoriously famous for showing lower reading than higher reading.
