![]() I tried aiming the pump at the surface with little success, the attachement is too long. The water enters my skimmer (since its a hang on) through a series of holes that are drilled into it, also through the bottom. I think I may get a surface skimmer, but how does that attach to my hang on skimmer (tunze 9002) or my canister filter?

![]() I just bought a small surface skimmer from ebay, and intend to put it inside my skimmer intake so the skimmer will draw the water through the surface skimmer instead.
I have not tried it yet but I think it will work. here is what I bought, much cheaper through ebay than from the Internet aquarium stores. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Oil-Free-Surf...item3a7680611b Quote:

![]() Ya I have the same problem on my 35g. Its a common problem if your tank doesn't have an overflow because the surface never really gets filtered. I tried the surface skimmer with my old skimmer but it doesn't really fit my newer one. I've noticed that it goes away as long as my skimmer cup doesn't overflow so I've been pretty diligent with emptying and cleaning it and it seems to appear a lot less often.
