Nikon D3000?

Have a D3000 and really like it. Great pics and solid camera choice. But yeah, if you want to do video, look at the D3100.

Like I said The Nikon P500 I have isn't fully DSLR but takes full 1080p Video so this is more for shooting. I need something thats has a faster frame rate/shutter speed then my current camera as well as something that I can get better macro shots with, so I saw this and figured it may be a good "1st" DSLR for the photography noob on the go. lol

Now If I can sell my 75g I might actually be able to get it! Lots of offers for it on kijiji mostly around $200 for the whole system... I think I can do better

I have also been looking at the Canon EOS Rebel XSIbut I have no prior experience with canons

Another question, I found a
Canon Rebel used for $375 with only 3854 pictures taking with it, according to the owner.
good deal? or do I haggle? anyone have any experience with Canons?

Canons are good cameras. I have a eos rebel and am pleased with it. I got it as a gift but if I had my choice it would be Nikon. My background is in lens manufacturing and Nikon is one of my top two choices for lens quality. The other is Carl zeiss.

Either way both take great shots but I find canon more user friendly. I guess it's just what I got used to working with.

thanks for the reply, I'm more familiar with nikon as I have had 2 so I may stick to what I know, I am considering having a look at the used Canon rebel XSI but if its used it may need a new shutter in the future

Don’t have enough Information, Like D80 is to be said up to 50000 actuations. But Most newest model min have 100k actuations tested on the factory.

If your camera shutter has worn out, you can repair it at your camera service center, it will cost you 100 – 250 $. They will disassemble your camera and replace the shutter with the new one, and reset the shutter count to zero again, and start counting. In other word shutter count is representation of your camera shutter life expectations, not your camera life. After you change your camera shutter you can shoot normal again. Just like your car tire has worn out and you can change a new tire and your car start working again.

I prefer Nikon, I have 2 Nikon D200's, purchased the D300, then sold it to a friend to buy a D700, and just picked up the D800 last week, which I ordered in Feb.

A shutter should almost last you a lifetime, unless your shooting sports.
