thanks for the compliments
i actually spend time in the side yard now.
interesting how something changes how you look at things and makes you enjoy them a bit more.
and sorry, but I am already coming up with a new idea for next year to utilize my mom's free labour...lol
However, I will definitely pass on your compliments to her.
btw, can I say that I really hate the fact that I can't edit my original title -
if one of the mods reads this, if you could add an ( 's ) to the end of Neal on the title so I don't look so illiterate, it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Neal

The pond is bigger than my yard... I'd love to do this someday but not here!

I'm not too familiar with pond construction but I saw the busted sidewalk slabs and was thinking wtf? That really came together nicely!

Will the smaller fish be in the lower area?

we used the concrete to form a base to put everything on top of - that way I didn't have to dig down the full 2 feet and we could have a 2 tiered system
we raised the whole upper pond by about a foot.
and yes, I have some smaller koi and goldfish in the small pond and my bigger koi are in the top pond.
right now, they all hide because they are used to being in my garage..
once they start showing themselves, I will post some pics of them.
