Last night I finally found some time to do some finishing touches on the LED build.

Started by placing my lenses on the appropriate led's (at least I hope I picked the right ones)

Then with my brother's help we drilled and placed the new Plexi splash shield over the entire fixture. Those are the moonlights that are on in this picture.

I really tried to come up with some way to build an apparatus where I could slide the plexi in from one side, kinda like how many of the production units do it, but just couldn't figure out a good way. Thus I went with plastic spacers and stainless screws.

Rather than look at the cut sides of the plexi, I put on aluminum trim all the way around. This should further strengthen the plex from sag (although I doubt 1/4" will sag) and make it less of a lethal weapon when I reach into the tank.

A quick update for anyone who still has the patience to follow this build.

My contractor started on the stand and the canopy for the tank. This thing would hold 5 of my tanks, it's done so well.

Here's a quick pic of them starting to skin it:

Here's a quick shot inside:

And another:

Lastly a little closer shot of how the corners will go: Note that this isn't attached, its just put there for my picture.

1" plywood will be on top and there is even a hidden drain reservoir all around the tank hooked up to my sink drain beside the tank. It should be pretty sweet when it's all done.

My picture of the canopy didn't turn out so it will have to come later.

Rock SOLID stand!!!

Are you going to stain it or paint it? White would look really classy, I've taken to White lately.

It will actually be stained to match all the cabinets around it. All the trim is solid Oak and will be stained like my stair posts shown below:

Looks awesome pro jobs are always so polished. Love the standoffs for the plexi too. That can't really sag.
