![]() mine is permanent, I used the epoxy for rock, mind you my aquascape is quite small, but the epoxy allowed me to stack them nearly 15" high(the height of my tank) with no concern

Permanent the caves and just stack the foundations.

![]() I used acrylic rods, I can slide the rocks off the rod if I need to, and switch them around if I feel the need to.
