I miss the sweet sounds of the pinky ponk. these days it's jake and the neverland pirates.

My kids are both very smart for their age and have actually learned a lot from some of the shows on tv.

Default I got lucky!

At a time just after I had a "little" mishap with water from the tank and the wife was not very happy, we discovered that the one and only thing that calms my son (now 2 years old) was the fish tank.

I wish I had a video of it, as 3 months old I would hold him and walk in front of the tank -- he would stop and calmly watch the tank (quietly). I would then walk with him out of the room and he would "scream" and repeat.

We ended up setting up his little chair in front of the tank and he would watch it for hours. At the age of 2, he will still sit and watch the tank. He does still like to watch TV once in a while, but he will at least once a day climb on a chair in front of the tank and stare.

This allows me a lot of breathing room with spending money on the tank

This is very true both my daughter and son do the same thing when I'm holding them but put them in a chair by themselves and they freak out lol.
