![]() i have a pink spotted goby with a tiger pistol in my 33 gal. it took a bit of work to get them together. its been about 4 months now that they've been together. sometimes i dont see either of them for a week. sometimes i just see goby. then all of a sudden... there they are, all day long. that shrimp can sure move some sand! i think it was the best addition to my tank EVER! i love these guys.

![]() Hi, I replied to your other yellow watchmen thread, this action is perfectly normal, especially when you have a trio. They are busy building and hiding in the burrow-no concern at all!

![]() I have had a pair for over a year now and they are always together. I got them when I had a fowlr but now that I have added corals and my sandbed is covered with chalices and zoas, the pistol shrimp is starting to drive me nuts. I wake up in the morning or get home from work to discover them burried or pulled into the shrimps burrows. I started to stick pieces of rock to try and block off the entrances to a few of the ones nearest to the chalices but it always finds a way around them, lol.

![]() I had a Randall's goby and tiger pistol pair for 3 years until the goby jumped last week. Don't worry about them being holed up, they won't starve. I rarely saw my goby take food when I fed the tank and yet he was the fattest bastard.

![]() Had a YWG with a tiger pistol for 3 years, until the goby was injured in a tank move. He recovered somewhat, but jumped after a few weeks. Sad to see the poor guy go like that.
I have since paired the same Pistol with a hi fin red banded goby. Another instant pair. Very cool, but often very frustrating, they definitely force me to keep an extra eye on the tank....but thats kinda why I got into this whole thing!

![]() Hello all, Great photos!
I have a yellow watchman goby in a 200g and I would love to pair her with a tiger pistol shrimp. I'm pretty sure it's a her as it has a duller yellow compared to some that I have seen. She only shows her grumpy face at feeding time! I actually saw tiger pistol shrimp for sale at Pisces here in Calgary but I didn't buy one because I have a few concerns. - I heard pistol shrimp prey on cleaner shrimp. I have two cleaner shrimp that would rather not get eaten haha. Also there is this video of the shrimp in the wild: http://www.aboutfishonline.com/artic...ol-shrimp.html Is it possible to keep them with cleaner shrimp or is that a recipe for disaster? -I also have a crushed coral substrate, not sand. Is sand required for this shrimp? Thanks all! |
