I use a Rustolium spray paint to do the back of tanks, clean glass with straight vinegar & razor blade first. I have tried latex paint but it usually looks like crap.

ya, latex doesnt adhere very well to hard surfaces like glass, metal, or plastic.....krylon is designed differently to adhere to harder surfaces

I agree latex isn't the greatest for glass. Krylon is what I use and most other people use

Honestly, it's ok! You never know until you try something if it will work. I had read about using krylon paint but bec the tank is in the house, I didn't want to spray. I'm a messy painter so it seemed like a viable option.

The bf picked up some plumbing supplies yesterday but couldn't find everything so it wasn't going to get started anyway.

Please don't feel bad!!

Don't feel bad, it's an adventure, learning new things comes from messing things up and trying again. Not worried about it, just might slow things down a bit...

You can do it in the house Sheena just do it in small stages, a couple feet at a time, mask off the side and chuck some paper on the floor. Krylon or Rustolium will give you a nice smooth finish.
