![]() The baffle I put in is 17" I guess I'll cut it out and shorten it then.

![]() I run mine at 8-10. My sump water level is probably 12" and I put the skimmer on a shelf. Works great!

![]() 8" to 10" height is standard for most sumps as a skimmer "box" height.

![]() I wouldn't cut your baffle height down. Use some eggcrate and pvc to build a stand to raise the skimmer to whatever height you want. Here's a picture I found of one as an example.
![]() I run my IN-280 in 10" of water I believe |

![]() I run my vertex in180 in 8" water
Agreed - Build a shelf for it to lift it up and you keep extra water volume in your system

![]() I will only be able to raise the skimmer 6" which will leave the skimmer in 11" of water. Will that be ok or should I cut the baffle down an inch or two?

![]() If you can only raise it that much your going to have to cut it down. But try it first and see.

![]() tough call...
I've ran my 280 in 10" of water since day one, added a higher baffle to my sump wich put it in 11" of water and I like it better now!! But... you'r better off figuring it out now prior to silicon hitting the baffles..so my opinion doesn't really help the dilema!!!lol
