Haha, i think it's safe to say you have a skimmer addiction. you might want to try crack, it'd probably be cheaper :S.

I have the ATI BM250 right now, how would you compare it to others you ran at that time? I feel that mines doing a decent job, just haven't had anything to compare it to. Not sure if I'd be better off trading it up.

the BM 250 I loved that skimmer tHat got me going on that skimmer addiction. the only thing that i hated about the BM as the sicci pumps i even bought 2 new ones and they gave me grieve so i sold it. I would like to get one and put 2 Bubble blaster 5000's on there and fire it up. i liked the wide neck too for a more wetter skim mate too.

Doesn't matter how much you have been reading until you take the plunge.
You don't know as much as you think.

what makes the ATB any gold is the pump I believe its the Askoll pump on there right. other then that the plastic is no beter then any othe skimmer or the parts. take the BM 220 cone cheap made and yet they have it with the ehiem pump, however that is what that skimmer has going for it. Is the Ehiem.

I agree with that, restart isn't even an option, it's just how many times i need to pull the impeller housing off to get it going again

thats type of design you could easily put a couple of smaller pumps and rock that skimmer like 2 ehiems would do good too

I like the idea with the Bubble Blasters, I looked at them awhile ago, I'll probably do it in a bit once my fish budget recovers from boxing day.

I have to agree with you as its mostly the pump that makes a skimmer as well as the design. An Askoll skimmer pump would be my first choice then probably an Eheim. I have noticed the higher end skimmers are nicer constructed and made with thicker acrylic as well.

yup and when you have parts that are
CnC Machined
Hot welded
tight fitting pieces that don't move when adjusting like the flow and water height.
super quiet pumps, RD, Ehiem, Askoll,
bigger Air lines for more LPH
dissemble of parts to clean.
Sch 80 Plumbing parts.

it all adds up I would rather pay the money in
Bubble king
Deltec
Vertex cone
for good skimmers and

the name is huge and dependable
