![]() Just a quick correction for you, Freon has not been a marketable product in Canada since the Montreal Protocol was signed in 1987 and fully ratified in 1990, the refrigeration gas used in your unit is called R-14 Tetrafluoromethane, it's completely safe to ship and no special paperwork is required to ship compression units containing this gas.

I received a refrigeration unit ( for a customer's yacht ) at work before summer. It was delayed as it could not come air freight. I was told it was due to it being labelled dangerous goods. I guess it was due to it being pressurized, not the kind of gas used. You can see where the assumption came from. |
