Ballast fumes

I have a PFO dual 400 watt hqi ballast , I was wondering if any one has noticed fumes from there ballasts or should I say funny smells.
If so is there any literature to read possible health risks?

I dont think there should be n e fumes...

I have dual Son Agro ballasts, which are the same thing as yours, and no fumes coming from them at all.

When I first hooked my m58 magnetic ballast,it gave a strong smell,turned out it came with a thin coat of protective oil that had to burn off(smelled like cooking oil,stunk up the room for a week).
