I sure don't like that unsupported 4' span. I've only ever heard of one stand collapsing though, but I would not like for yours to be number two! I think the biggest risk is that you will crack the bottom pane of glass probably right where that center support is. I've seen more than one 8-10' tank cracked in that spot. LOVE your tank dimensions!
