![]() Thanks everyone. I dont know much about plumbing and hose bib is easiest for me.
I went down to Home Depot and bought 3 pieces to assemble the hose bib. What is the pressure gauge for? Dont I just turn the hose on when I need RODI water? |

By all means you may simply turn on the hose & let 'er rip when you need water but I like to know what's going on. Many RO systems come with a pressure gauge installed between the prefilters & the membrane to monitor performance, ie, when your membrane might need replacing. I've decided to take it a step further and use two pressure gauges, the one you see in the photo to measure input pressure & the one before the RO membrane. This makes it very easy to determine if there's a drop in performance due to increasing pressure differential between the two gauges. Most of the time all I need to do is replace the first stage 5 micron poly prefilter & I'm good for a bunch more gallons.
