So I need some advice on my overflow setup. This thing came stock with 1 X 3/4" bulkhead and 1 X 1" bulkhead in each overflow. So it was a Durso setup and the 3/4" was probably for a return line.

So with the difference in the hole size, should I just go with the Durso setup? I've had them before and just find them a little noisey. However it did come with a brand new set of durso pipes I can use. I would love to do a herbie, but with the different sized holes, It would be sketchy to have a 1" main and a 3/4" emergency...no?

I'm also having trouble with the layout of the sumps as well. I was going to stack them one on top of another, but now it's not looking like I will have the room to stack them all. So I think I'm going to have to re-design the whole thing :-(

I don't think that is a problem at all. It depends on how much flow you are going to drop through those drains. Keep in mind that you have 2 primary and 2 emergency drains. Realistically, I doubt you will have a blockage in BOTH primaries at the same time. Also, the primaries don't tend to just stop dead suddenly, they are more likely to just block slightly, transferring only a portion of flow to the emergency drains.

Leave the emergency drains as straight pipes so you'll hear them if they become active.

Finally, just test it after. Block a drain and see what happens!

Default Finally an update!

So a bunch of progress has been made. I have shut down all of my other random tanks. The fish room has been cleared out. And I also got a new FOWLR system for the back fishroom wall! I also finished the canopy of the reef tank, and found a 155 gallon sump to join the reef system..

I purchased the FOWLR from the famous 'kein'. I was eyeing his tank for ages. When it came up for same I bought it up. Came with tank, stand, some rock, and some fishies! I've added a sump, a light, and a skimmer.

So this is the system as it sits now in my fishroom:

Equipment -

131 Gallon Eurobraced 60"L X 18"D X 28"H
Black stand with removable front panels
70 Gallon temporary sump - getting new one built with baffles
8 X 54W T5 Aqua Medic Ocean Light with a 50/50 combo of KZ Blues and New gens
SWC Extreme MiniS skimmer
TLF Carbon Reactor with regular carbon
Mag 9.5 Return Pump
2 X Tunze Nano Wavebox w/ controller
1 X Tunze 6095 powerhead
1 X Koralia # 3 pointed at surface
Tunze ATO

Livestock -

100 Lbs live rock in display, 40lbs in sump
Lots of blue clove polyps
Blue mushrooms
Green Paly's
GSP's

Emperor Angel
Passer Angel (King Angel)
Flame Angel
Hoevens Wrasse (Melanurus)
Solon Fairy Wrasse
Female Pencil Wrasse
Flame Hawkfish
Mated Pair of Clowns
Mated Pair of Yellow Damsels
Talbot's Damsel
12" Snowflake Eel
10 Large Turbo Snails
10 Astraea Snails

Here are some crappy pics (nice ones to come asap)

Aqua scaping isn't done, and the tank is being cleaned tonight. I just piled all the rock up in there for now.

This skimmer is a monster! This was 40 minutes after I plugged it in! checked back today and there is an inch of dark brown crap in it. Great purchase.

I have never been a fan of a halfmoon tank, but your tank really does change my view about it. And the stand looks amazing with a different finished coat on it. All I can say is WOW
