Default Eliminating Pineapple Sponges

So pineapple sponges are starting to take over my sump and im wondering how to eliminate them? What do they feed on? Any products on the market to kill them? Or am I stuck with scraping and sucking them out?

Default sponges

scrape them off,but don't let them die in your tank.they are useful on filtering your water

Default pineapple sponge

last time i counted i've 1997 pineapple sponges in my sump, remote deepsandbed, refugiums and i welcome them all for what they do to keep my marine system functioning. so why would you want to eliminate them when no one else can see them?

I know that there helpful but the issues is that every time I kill the power to my return pump to do a wayer change the back surge of water into my return chamber knocks them loose and as soon as I plug it in again any that are left are shredded and shot into my display
