are you using a refractometer for salinty?? if not then you will prob get different readings all the time from a hydrometer they may all be ball park of where you need to be but a refractometer is pin point. now with that being said a ph of around 8 isnt bad at all in fact ph tends to swing from night to morning so its best to test it the same time everyday.if you dont see any ph swings of drastic numbers and your corals look fine then i wouldnt worry about it.

if your tank was older and you were more experienced i would tell you what someone else said and it was the best advice i ever heard....throw your ph test over your fence lol as someone new to salt hobby and a new tank its good to test for it but dont raise it unless its drasticlly low all the time then theres issues
