Ive had 3 different nems hit a powerhead... I feel your pain, first time it wiped out my tank from sitting in the powerhead for the weekend. Second time I watched it happen, all slow-mo like, so I got it out fast. Third time there was nothing else in my tank to kill off.

My nem has been sucked into my powerhead four times now and it's still doing fine. Unless your RBTA is completely shredded to pieces I wouldn't write it off as dead yet.

Yep it happened to me once not long after we had our tank. It happened in the middle of the night. I noticed around 5am after getting up because the tank looked like someone had poured milk into it. At the time I was running 2 bags chemi pure elite & a bag of purigen. I didn't even do a water change because after fishing out what little was left of the nem I went back to bed & when I woke up the water was crystal clear & everything seemed happy. To bad that happened that was a nice looking nem. I'll never get another one, cause I like sps to much now.

Well I did another 15 gallon waterchange tonight just to make sure things were in line. Everything is looking great and back to normal! As for the anemone there was literally nothing left of it. Sadly nothing to salvage. I am just happy it all worked out well. I will continue to run extra carbon for a few days and maybe do an extra waterchange this week but all is well.

Thanks for the help everyone. Maybe I overreacted a bit but this was my first scare with the tank. Hopefully I won't have another for a long time!

Cheers

Happened to me 2 months ago. Killed almost everything in the tank coral wise.

Had a white BTA.

Here's what I lost:

Blue sponge.
2x torch coral.
2 other anemones.
3x clams.
2x leathers.
Bubble coral.

A UV sterilizer helps a bit but otherwise you have to do big water changes.
