![]() Silicone the first baffle (10" or so tall) to the bottom of the tank so that there is a big enough skimmer "box" for your skimmer sit inside. That will create a stable water level for the skimmer to operate. Then say 2' away, add a second baffle one inch off the bottom so the water can flow under & keep the bubbles away from the return pump. That's how I build all my sumps. You can add more baffles but in a 5' sump, not necessary. Fill the second chamber between the baffles with chaeto & rock & the bubbles will get trapped.

![]() BTW, sand down the edges of the baffles so you don't cut yourself. Old window glass works.

![]() The skimmer is inline so I will have a 2nd bulkhead on the right side aswell so All i have to worry about is the gfo,carbon reactor pumps and the bubbles at the very end of the sump. with a 2 foot tall sump should I go higher than 10" for the top of the baffles that will contain the refugium section? and bubble trap baffles will also keep the refugium stuff intact?
