It shouldnt matter what the amps are on the ballast or cord. A 250w MH is only 2 amps at 125v + ballast factor. Thats just what the cord is rated for (10a or 13a). Sounds to me like something is not wired right. I had a coralife ballast ordered in for me that hummed like mad brand new. I would look for new ballasts all together. You would be amazed at the better light output if you put a galexy, icecap, vertex etc on your fixture. I swithched from coarlife ballasts to PFO and blew my mind how much differance there was between the 2. Is it the 3 prong "computer" style end? Edit: was it a vendor or just some guy that you bought the new one from? |

![]() it is a 3 prong plug and I bought it brand new from a vendour on ebay, he is located in Hamilton Ontario.
