Looks like these guys use bioballs in a trickle filter. They probably bring in already established bioballs.

They also probably use a carbon filter hooked to the tap and then just mix salt.

And since they are a maintenance company too and their clients obviously have money, they probably do weekly water changes and cleaning.

i would assume also by watching the second episode that they maybe also do a quarantine system at the shop, or from the supplier? the first tank they seemed to bring it from the shop and the second was straight from the shipping boxes... they should have a behind the scenes show for us reefers

when they are filling the water for the mob tank, it clearly shows they are filling the tank with some kind of tap water which is 95 degree so they brought some ice to cool the water.

This is what i assume: since they have no live rock, they can reduce the cycle time?? They must have some kind of magic potion where you just fill the tap water, dump in the potions, dump in the salt and then once it is mixed to certain salinity and ph, put the fishes in.

Also the fishes are probably already got quarantine from the shop they bought so they only get super healthy one.

Anyway, i am still curious if any fish dies after couple days tho. From the sounds of it, it seems like most of tank owner do not care what fishes they are getting, all they are really after is the look and wow factor. So even if fishes are dying, they jsut got replaced quickly. Sad to think if this is case

But without live rock they can just medicate the whole tank.

And why would they need a potion?I think they just have a huge tank with bio balls that are established and ready to go

Just in case someone was having trouble finding the first episode to watch it...here's a link:

Fish selection was questionable...but the show could bring some recognition to the hobby which is positive.
