I guess a Powder Blue Tang is "basically" the same as a Powder Brown in that case LOL! According to ORA they are all black with white markings, nether the Black Ice or Smores were completely black.

You have a point there Doug. Still a cool looking Clown though.

I guess it's no different than attaching freaky names to coral to get top dollar out of them. I mean really, Nightmare Palys? Blue Orgasm Zoas? And I don't know what the hell Darth Maul has to do with coral other than make them freakin' expensive! They obviously appeal to the Zoa/Paly enthusiast the way ORA is appealing to the Clown enthusiast.

That's my next clown. I'm eagerly waiting for them to be released. I think it'll be a gorgeous match to my full snowflake.

The reason is simple; some people like them enough to pay the asking price. Limited availability is what keeps captive bred "designers" at higher price points.

Wild caught fish usually have unique reasons for high price tags like inhabiting excessively deep waters or areas where permits are difficult to obtain. Some people like these fish enough that they are willing to pay $600 for a Black Tang, or $1200 for a Candy Basslet, or $20,000 for a Peppermint Angelfish.
