Reef Brite LED's Go to Indonesia
Reef Brite's Aqua Viewer LED have been gaining GREAT popularity amoungst hobbyists for their ability to view corals up close with the magnifying glass and their, White, Red or Blue LEDs. Patrick and I brought some with us to Indonesia to use for viewing corals in facilities where actinics would not be present and to better identify those "cherry" pieces for you! Our first day beside the sea we hadn't gotten to spend enough time in the ocean, so we thought of another great use of the Aqua Viewers. We decided to take out the Reef Brite Aqua Viewers to get a better look at some of ocean inhabitants on our beach! Since during the day, Patrick had almost tripped over a moray eel, we decided it was a good idea to wear our water shoes. Luckily, outfitted by Level Six clothing; http://www.levelsix.com/ We not only had water shoes, but Level Six Creek Boots! Which are neoprene boots with kevlar pannels and the bottoms coated in Vulcanized rubber soles! Perfect to help avoid a nasty urchin sting or eel bite if they sneak up on you in the dark! Me sneaking up on the little critters as they couldn't see my red light! I am pretty sure that is the "leave me alone I am sleeping look" There were tonnes of little fish swimming around our legs and nipping at us as well Patrick using the White light to look for interesting items A crab was hiding in some of the rocks The fish didn't mind us picking them up! If you look closely you can see another Crab hiding. A Feather Duster nested inside the branches of a coral. This fish kept reflecting light back as us as we tried to take photos You can see a few hiding in this photo too! |
