Default Feeding CUC in new tank

How should I feed my clean up crew in a new tank if at all?

Type of food / amount / frequency?

5g tank is 3 weeks old with 3 dwarf hermit crabs, a nassarius snail and a spiny snail. Tank is growing some patches of green/brown on the sand and a green dust on the glass. Since starting the tank I've been feeding once day or every other day one of: a small fingernail bit of shrimp, pinch of cytopleze, one formula 1 pellet.

if you have to feed your cuc, you've added them too soon.

The whole point of a CUC is that they scavenge on unwanted algae and food waste/detritus.

They are still alive and the algea is increasing so I'm guess that means they are getting enough food. Thanks.
