I hope you've installed a valve on your drain,if so shut it until the noise stop but don't close it too much or you'll overflow your tank, you'll have to find a happy medium hope this helps

So you have more than one overflow pipe? Create a Herbie overflow system and you won't have anymore noise.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the replies. Yes I have valves on everything. Are you saying all I have to do is reduce the flow and things should be fine? Here I took some pictures of when the water was flowing, maybe this will narrow down the suggestions.

Put a 90 degree "U" on it so it sucks from below the surface (I'd put a screen on it too so errant livestock doesn't get sucked in).
I've had a horrendous sucking sound since I got into this hobby. Turns out it's not my overflow but money being siphoned from my wallet.....
