Here's one way to make that process a LOT simpler. Get yourself a free domain forward:
http://free.domain.name/en.html?domain=homeip.net I've used this for years. Instead of having to check your current IP, software updates a server with your IP at all times. Then, when you need access you just type your domain name and voila ! e.g. aqua-digital@dyndns.org would bring you to your current IP. At least that way you always know how to connect. Next, make sure your have a laptop with all the software installed and configured on it with you. I never leave home on a trip without !

Err....no....it saves you from having to have a *static* IP (dynamic IP's are the whole reason for the service)

That's awesome. I'd really like to make the investment into one of these some day for exactly this sort of thing.
Got a little confused on the terminology myself - well, I knew what you meant so not really "confused" but yeah "PLC" is an accepted industry term for programmable logic controller - which the whole Profilux is, in a way, just a bit specialized. ![]()

to confuse you more Profilux also has a dedicated programmable logic interface also, enabling it to be programmed to do pretty much all configurations.
