![]() hi guys i have recently purchesed a clam he looks like he has taken well to my tank he has attatched himself to the rock i placed him on and is realy responsive to movement and shadows, my only concern is i no little about clams and he has strange markings on his mantle the look almost brown and and circle his entire mantle im not sure if it its somthing i should be concernd about or not but any one who has extensive knowledge with clams or owns them aswell your feed back will be greatly appreceaited

![]() thanks doug the information was good, thow it was nothing on what i was looking for in the begining it led me to discover i made a rookie mistake on not asking enough questions and not doing the right research, unfourtuntely my clam will perish it has pinched mantle desiase is bleaching and the muscle that closes it fully looks torn hopefully thow any who reads this post will not let compulsiveness take over, always reaserch what your buying and make sure the staff at the lfs are properly traind and no what they are talking about before a buy.

![]() Pinched mantle can be treated with fresh water dip pretty well if it is taken in time. As for the thorn foot, you said it had attached? so I guess the foot was not that thorn so that it could not attach so maybe there is still some hope.
