I think you're right about the membrane. I flush my membrane a few times mid-use too, and always make sure that my storage barrel is almost empty so I make 50 gallons at a time since the membrane will last longer than frequent, short uses. |

![]() I have 65 psi when a 150 gpd flow restrictor is used. If flow is completely blocked there is a little under 70 psi. When water bypasses the flow restrictor through the 1/4" tubing the pressure gauge only reads around 30 psi. Less resistance, less pressure. Yours is probably similar.

![]() It is normal for the system pressure to drop when you flush the membrane. You are releasing the back pressure on the system....its like opening a faucet....the pressure on the line drops.

![]() Yah mahn. It will stay at 30 psi indefinitely though.

![]() Turn the flush on....pressure drop...turn the flush off and pressure back up or no? Can you clarify?

I do think your drop through a 1/4" line is a little large. befor my pump in my old house I would get about a 3 PSI drop, not 35 PSI, but I guess that could have to do in how you are supplying the water and where the PSI is measured. Steve

![]() Sorry to Hijack this post but has anybody else been waiting on their 150gpd 1:1 unit from BWI? My order was placed May 18th still waiting. Just wondering if I'm the only one.

Also people should note these units do not apparently include an auto shut off so you'll either have to add one or manually turn the water supply on or off (a float switch won't shut it off). I see he's noted this in the thread now but the website is misleading as it states it's included. I managed to get a shut off added after I already received my unit but I'm still waiting for it, took over two weeks for him to ship it out after being promised next day and again I had to follow up to even get it out then. Overall like the product, hate the service. Will not be a repeat customer. Look around there are plenty other 1:1 units available and even 2:1 (2 good, 1 waste) units available, not as cheap but at least they actually do include everything you need. |
