Need help on a fish...

The aquarium store was not very giving on the information end of things, he told me it would be fine in my size of tank....

That looks more like a twostriped sweetlips it only grows to 11.8in all you need is a 75 gal tank.

I don't think it is, but even so a ~12inch fish in a 75g? I don't think so.

If you googled it, then you also know that they are very picky eaters and considered to be somewhat of an advanced fish to care for.

If this is in fact the fish you purchased, then you have made a few mistakes here. The first mistake was buying a fish without knowing anything about it, including it's name. The second mistake was dealing with a fish store that clearly cares more about profit than promoting responsibility within this hobby.

Honestly, you should take this fish back and ask for a refund. Just print off the care sheet for this species and when the guy asks why you are returning the fish, hand him the care sheet and just say "really?" with as much sarcasam as you can manage. you might add "why would you sell me this fish?"

Well the info sheets are not always right. This fish is a great eater and has been doing great the past 4 weeks that i have had it. I am not very concerned about it right now, I will let it grow a bit and then find a tank large enough to house it.... or maybe thats incentive to go bigger myself.

It was irresponsible of the lfs to sell that size of fish to you as well as a it was irresponsible of you to buy it with out knowing what type of fish it was, but we all make mistakes and sometimes you end up learning things the hard way.

However now that you have it and it's eating it should be ok in a 110g for a couple of years before it out grows your tank, depending on how fast it grows of course, so it's good you realize a new home or a tank up grade will need to happen later on. It is also the type of fish that creates a higher bio load then others so keep that in mind with tank mates and keep up with water changes and as he grows larger water changes will be necessary.

your 110 gallon will do for a while definitely.....for a while...

I dont know which is the species.I also known about the koi fish.That fish are very much colorful to be see.I always feed the fish on evening time.Seems to be have good time with fish.
