Cayo Coco - Cuba **Anyone been there?**
I am heading to Cayo Coco in the next bit. It is my second time to Cuba... first time to Cayo Coco.
From what I have read, they have one of the most important reefs in the world.... next to the GBR. Apparently they had some major bleaching in the past and studies are being done there. Now, has anyone been there? Tips? Best locations for snorkelling? Anything. Tips from you reefers are always the best! Thanks.

I went there last year but never ventured far from the resort to check out the reefs. My impression of the place was the beaches were beautiful and the people were very nice. It was a great vacation and worth every penny.
The only negative side of it was the lack of any sort of cuban culture. There are no locals near the resorts, the workers are bused in every morning from towns over an hour away. I went home wanting to see more of the "real" Cuba, and I'm sure some day I will go back, but to a different part of the country.

Last year we were in Veradero and Havana. We know we will be a bit away but the reviews were fantastic!

A friend of mine went there this past January.... She didn't hit the reef but she did snorkel in the mangroves and said it was full of beautiful fish!
