![]() Yea still a true perc. He's fine. Just a variance in pattern just like us humans. We cant all be blond hair and blue eyes. We have brown hair, red hair, black hair, streeks etc. I believe when they dont have a complete bar they are called misbar. But im not positive. Either way your fish is just unique

![]() Awesome. Thanks for the assurance. I don't at all mind having one that is unique, as long as it doesn't hurt the chances of them pairing up. I don't plan on breeding, just want them to get along. I guess time will tell.

![]() I believe it's because of these types of genetic differences as to why there are now the white clown fish available. People started taking the odd ones and breeding them together and were able to "breed" the orange stripes out of them. I think they make a cute couple.

![]() Shouldn't be a problem for them to pair up. I have two back clowns, with the male being a misbar and they still paired up pretty much as soon as I introduced them (the female was much bigger to begin with)

![]() According to Joyce D Wilkerson (guru of clownfish) true perculas take almost a year or more to gain their full stripes. The 3rd bar is the last to fill in fully. I would say its just a youngster and needs to do some maturing.
Same as Gold Stripe Maroons, born with white stripes and can take up to a year or more to gain their full mature yellow bars.
