This SO depends on the aquascaping of your system, if it is wall to wall SPS like my 24" cube then I would go for either the Black Python (like I have) or two of these.

However if you are less dominant in SPS and can afford to either raise the fixture or do not have SPS from side to side then one would suffice.

The spread of these units is wide, no optics = natural 120 degree spread so it gives a lot to play with but if stretching its band, you will get PAR drop off on the outer limits.

Well, I have a Black Python on the way for my 36" cube and I might try it over the 24" just for fun but as the 24 will be mostly just fish and a few softies I'm thinking one of these may just be the trick...do you know if they are going to be coming in matt black? I'd like it to match the Python purely for aesthetics (same room).
