Well if you over look the fact that putting it in an aquarium is as good as a death sentance.

Exactly! basket stars and feather stars are all but impossible to keep alive. it's been ages since I researched them, but if I remember correctly they can only feed on a certain sized food.

A basket star was one of my newbie purchases. I was told they were very easy to keep..

It was really a tragic experience watching it die piece by piece, it's legs falling off one by one over a two week period.

Ah that sucks! Hopefully that LFS that sold you it was informed and they don't bring them in anymore
