there are 2 curved doors on the stand, the stand and canopy are steel with layers of laminated plywood wraped around and then tiled over top, the trim, is actually rubber, painted to look like wood. the doors have metal seahorse handles. the lighting is only 2 400W 10K ushio bulbs on electronic ballasts, to say the least, I hate the bulbs.... I will be changing it to 4 400W 14K or 20K or a mix of the 2 color tempatures. the canopy lifts off the tank by remote controlled electronic hoist, the stand is packed with equipment, a large sump, multiple pumps, uv sterilizer, skimmer, and chiller, I have an intake vent in the stand and a 600+cfm exhaust fan to vent the chiller. yeah they are expensive, this one is around $70,000.00 all said and done with livestock. I keep a algae free brand cleaning magnet with acrylic pad on the cylinder at all times for daily maintence, and I use a algae free magnet for 2" thick acrylic for bi monthly maintence, tank is only 3/4" thick. and yes its a center overflow covered by a very beautiful artifical rock and coral insert, all hand painted.

Holy Smokes. I think I'm in the wrong line of work.

It's very nice work though Kyle. Thanks for sharing the pictures!

its 588 gallons, but with sump it a mellow 600gallons. Im trying to make our upcomming display tank stretch out to abit over 6000gallons so that we have the largest private tank in BC. we are doing a couple shark tanks right away, they are in the process of being built, we have alot of big tanks comming up, should be nice...

Damn how does a tanning salon make enuf money to blow on a tank like that is what I want to know. I have a friend that has one back home and he wouldent be able to justify 700.00 bucks on a tank let a lone 70000.00

Hell of a nice set up, if I had the cash I'd spend the $70k on that, you've done a really nice job.
